Obituary for Joyce Irene Uecker

Joyce Irene Uecker
Joyce Irene Uecker of Menomonee Falls passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at age 81. Loving mother of Leann Uecker-Ziemer, Sue Uecker, and Robert G. Uecker, Jr. (Catherine); cherished Nana of Nichole Uecker, Victoria Uecker-Bennett (Austin), Emily Uecker, and Kelsey Ziemer; dearest Great-Nana of Caela Uecker and Sophia Bennett; beloved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends including Patty and Tim Strack. She is preceded in death by her son Steve Uecker and her best friend and traveling partner Mariann Brahm.

Although Joyce was born in Milwaukee, she had a passion for travel; some of her favorite trips included a tour of Europe, hot air ballooning across the Midwest, and frequent trips to visit her son in California. She prided herself on her knack for managing and generating profits in her various careers in banking, as a travel agent for AAA in Milwaukee, and as Manager for Wisconsin Craftsman. Joyce's abundant creativity was manifested in countless cross-stitched works of art which were sold and displayed statewide. She was well known for dancing the night away, her sense of humor, and her loyalty to her friends. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren, and the love they shared with her will forever be a source of tremendous comfort and inspiration for them. Joyce will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have been a part of her life.

Visitation for Joyce will take place on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 9:00 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with mass to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow directly afterward at Sunnyside Cemetery in Lannon, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to the American Diabetes Foundation. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Jerry Stanley and his staff at Aurora Advanced Healthcare for providing Joyce with many years of excellent medical care.
