Obituary for August J. "Gus" Ostrowski Jr.

Went home to the Lord March 21, 2016 surrounded by the love of his family, age 83. Beloved husband of the late Virginia. Survived by his children Thiery (Charles) Cortte, Timothy Gratton, Daniel (Cathy), Leanne (Bruce) Kowalewski, and Laurie (James) Selchert; grandchildren Damian, Myrical, Annie, Kerri, Jade, Ashley, Nick, Paige, and Caity; great-grandchildren Tyler, Aislynn, Damian II, Gabriel, Kierah, and Leah. Brother of Norman and Jeanette. Preceded in death by his brothers Florian “Oscar”, Daniel, and Larry. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Rose Chepak, his special friend and polka partner who always seemed to put a sparkle in his eye.

Gus served in the Air Force from 1951-1954. His passions included baseball, golf, and polka dancing. He will be forever loved and missed.

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 25 at 6 PM at the funeral home. Visitation from 4 PM until the time of service Friday, then 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday March 26. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association appreciated.
