Obituary for David E. Fons Sr.

Passed away October 30, 2016, age 93 years. Beloved husband of the late Alice (Nee Bartnicki) Fons. Loving father of David (Carolyn) Fons, Jr., Mary Alice (Gary) Monticelli, Catherine (Marty Fox) Briggs, Edward (Theresa) Fons, Henry (Lidia) Fons, Richard (Julia) Fons, Anne (Kevin Smith) Fons, Victoria (Paul) Mroczkowski and Francis Fons. Dear grandfather of Emily and Claire Fons and Elisabeth (Adam) Biggs; Roxanne (Andrew) Hoks and Joseph Monticelli; Michael (Katy Oksuita) and Scott Briggs; Alexander, Joanna, Adam and Anna Rose Fons; Thomas (Ann) and Philip (Kathryn) Fons; Margaret (Jason) Britton, Andrew and Lucy Fons; Stanley, Edward, Steven (Alison) and Sally Mroczkowski. Dear great-grandfather of Sylvia, Estelle, Eliza, Philip, Hugh, Levi, and Wyatt. Brother of James (Nancy) Fons and the late Patricia Diab. Brother-in-law of Sr. Mary Lois Bartnicki, RSM. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward H. and Casimira (Nee Wojcik) Fons. David was an Army veteran of WW II, a lifetime VFW member and member of the American Legion for 71 years. He practiced law from 1948 until his retirement and remained an emeritus member of the bar until his death.

Funeral Mass Saturday, Nov. 12, 11 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 3222 S. 29th St. Inurnment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation Saturday at the Church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
