Dick Reinhard and I began teaching at New Berlin High School at about the same time, but I was a green young English teacher, while he already had a wealth of experience in math, chemistry, and working with youngsters. While carpooling with him, Nancy Sund and I enjoyed his stories and his calm way of de-fusing "drama." He was unfailingly kind, generous with his time, and willing to share his skills with those who wanted to learn. I fondly recall pedaling with the Biking Vikings on their excursions, particularly one that ended at the Milwaukee lakefront for a memorable view of the sunrise. The world needs more people like Dick Reinhard.
