Obituary for Carmen K. Thompson (Ings)

Thompson, Carmen (nee Ings) of Germantown.
Today we celebrate with Carmen who entered the kingdom of heaven on February 26, 2018, and is now experiencing the eternal joy God desires for all people.
Carmen was born on October 22, 1951. She was received into God’s kingdom of grace through holy baptism on May 18, 1956. She graduated from Ashwaubenon High School in 1969 (Go Jaguars!), and thereafter enlisted in the Army. In 1972 Carmen married William Thompson. Following their divorce, Carmen moved from Green Bay to the Milwaukee area where she met and eventually began residing with Diane (Dee) Frank, another divorcee, and Dee’s two children, Rodger and Anita. In her heart Carmen became a parent figure - a role she cherished for more than 40 years.
Carmen spent the majority of her working career in the medical profession, in the fields of office administration, medical coding, billing, compliance and computer operations.
Carmen was an outgoing personality and enjoyed engaging with and helping people. She is remembered by all as a caring and thoughtful individual. Her family and friends were very dear to her.
Carmen was preceded in death by parents Jack and Dorothea (Heuss) Ings, a special aunt, Dolores (Heuss) Ryan and a special uncle, Norman Luedtke. She is survived by brothers Tom (Barb) Ings, and Jeff (Brenda) Ings, a special aunt, Beverly (Heuss) Luedtke and niece Heather Ings. She is also survived by her dear friend and companion Dee Frank, Rodger (Charlene) Frank, Anita (Mark) Mueller, and eight “adopted” grandchildren, family and friends.
Our family wishes to thank Carmen’s dear friends, Kathy and Sharon for their support and care provided to Carmen during her illness.
A funeral service for Carmen will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 AM, at Bible Baptist Church, 3500 Beaver Dam Road (Also called Jefferson St.), West Bend, WI 53090. Pastor Steve Gorton will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
We are thankful for Carmen’s certain, God-given faith and look forward to being reunited with her in heaven. Philippians 1:21 – “For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
