Obituary for Alonzo Johnson

Alonzo Johnson,62, won his freedom from the constraints of this life on Thursday, November 10th, 2022.

On February 23rd,1960, Alonzo (Al) Johnson was born in Milwaukee, WI to Ethel Tucker and Joseph Mccann Sr. Al was the second youngest of 9 children, which included four step-brothers. After graduating from Dominican High School in 1978 he furthered his education by attending UW-Oshkosh. He excelled athletically in football and joined the Omega Psi Phi fraternity becoming a Que-Dog for life. He left Oshkosh and went on to attend Milwaukee Area Technical College where he obtained his Associate degree. With a strong passion for real estate, he opened his agency, Your Complete Realty.

Al was a devoted and loving father to four children. Jennifer Spencer, Jessica Trammell, Jynithia White, Jalen Spencer, and two step-sons Andre Brown and Jimmie Jude Jr. (Jackson, TN).

In his spare time, he loved gardening, junking, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and collecting plates from everyone's house while also running a mentor program at Washington Park and volunteering on weekends. One of his greatest passions was football which included him playing semi-pro football and his love for the Green Bay Packers. He spent time coaching youth football. He lead the Wolverines to a championship win with an undefeated season. His most recent triumph was when he helped lead his grandson Landen to the championship game in 2021 with the MKE Buccanneers. Alonzo gave his life to Christ; he was a joyous and longtime member of Matter of the Heart congregation where he sang in the choir. He was also a Volunteer at Eastbrook Church.

After a long and courageous health battle, Al passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. Al leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, MaryJo Mccann(Austin, TX), Germaine Mccann, and sister-in-law Karen Sholar, step-brother David Mccann. Three daughters Jennifer Spencer, Jessica (Ivan) Trammell, and Jynitha White. One son Jalen Spencer and two step-sons Andre Brown and Jimmie (Nicolette) Jude. Most important to him he leaves behind 12 grandchildren. Also surviving many nieces, nephews, cousins, loyal friends, and his beloved dog Lady.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ethel Tucker and Joseph Mccann Sr. His wife Jeanette Jude, his brothers Gradie Tucker, Robert Johnson, and Freddie Sholar, step-brothers Brady Tucker, Jospeh Mccann Jr, Cooney Tucker, and Ford Tucker Jr., and beloved granddaughter Rilei Lorraine Spencer.

A Funeral Service will be held November 19, 2022 at 3:00 pm at The Schramka Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until time of Service at 3:00 pm.
