Obituary for Barbara "Barb" Koebel (Steiner)

Barbara (Barb) Rose Koebel, of Thiensville, was peacefully called home to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

Barb grew up in Milwaukee and attended St. Sebastian Catholic School and Messmer High School. She was united in marriage to the late Orville (Orv) Koebel on June 4, 1949. They were married for 56 years and together they raised four children. Barb was employed at the Boston Store, the American Can Company for many years, and then later at One Hour Martinizing. She generously donated her time to deliver Meals on Wheels and was an Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. In her younger days, Barb enjoyed playing golf, camping, fishing, boating, and square dancing. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing Sheepshead, and gambling trips with her retirement club.

Those Barb leaves behind to cherish her memories include her children, Susan Koebel (the late Joan Haas), Deacon Michael (Dee) Koebel, Kitty (Bob) Kokott, and Ann (Doug) Princl. Proud Grandma of 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Further survived by a brother, sisters, and a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Barb was preceded in death by grandchild, Michele Hope Princl.

We will celebrate Barb’s life on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 521 Congress Drive, Newburg, with Fr. Tom Cassidy (brother) and Deacon Michael Koebel (son) officiating. Visitation 10:30-11:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm. Following Mass, there will be a Committal Service at Resurrection Cemetery, 9400 W Donges Bay Rd, Mequon.
