Obituary for Bridgette J. Bugni

Bridgette Jeanne Bugni (Kuhrt) of West Allis, WI.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on July 31st, 1956, to Mary Lou (Driscoll) and Richard Kuhrt. Bridgette had two sisters Linda Kaleba (Kuhrt), Cheryl Amsden (Kuhrt). As an adult, Bridgette found that she had sister Daphne Zamjahn and brother Daniel Zamjahn. Bridgette felt so blessed to have a baby sister and brother! Bridgette was preceded in death by her husband Mark Bugni, sister Linda, her mom Mary Lou, her dad Richard, her stepdad Jerry, her sister Cheryl, brother-in-law Gary, her friend Bev, Nephews Cory, and Greg, and three grandbabies that the world never got to meet, that she is now holding and spoiling.

Bridgette was married to Mark David Bugni for 29 years. Mark and Bridgette dated on and off as teenagers, they went their separate ways and then reconnected in 1980 where they decided they were "the ones” for each other. They officially married on Feb 14th, 1991, in Las Vegas Nevada.

Bridgette was an amazing mom to Jaimie (Dan) Sponder, Tammie (Robert) Ziemer, Katie (Stuart) Katzman, David (Amanda) Bugni, and Derek Bugni. Amazing Grandma (Erma, Namma, Butterfly, Gram Gram, Grammie, Gramma (BFF) ….) to Daniel Sponder, Allison (Jared) Haupenthal, Karlya Katzman, Emily Sponder, Kaylee Sponder, Rose Ziemer, April Ziemer, Zoey Sponder, Annabelle Bugni, Axl Katzman, and Brooklynn Bugni. Great Grandma (GG) to Cory and Stella Haupenthal, and little Haiden that she had not yet met.

Bridgette (Auntie B) is further survived by many nieces and nephews and their families that she loved so dearly.

Bridgette loved her time with Mark, her sister Cheryl, and her husband Gary in their motorcycle club. They had so many adventures on the Yamaha Venture Royal traveling to so many places. Bridgette also really enjoyed camping with Mark and the kids. Her best friend Diana joined with her family on many of the trips. They were a hoot together.

Bridgette had so many friends that she loved. We wish we could name you all, but there are so many of you that she loved with all her heart. You all know who you are!

Bridgette was a proud graduate of Milwaukee Hamilton High School Class of 1974. Go Wildcats! She proudly sang in the school choir.

Bridgette worked the third shift for many years at Crestwood Bakery and was heartbroken when they tore the building down. She still attended the Crestwood get-togethers and looked forward to seeing all her old friends. Bridgette had a few jobs including Walmart and G4S Security. Though all her kids begged her to retire, she refused because she loved working and being with her co-workers.

Bridgette had one goal every day: To make as many people smile as she could. Bridgette helped with many charities including Trees from Home which she started volunteering at when Derek was overseas in Japan. Trees from Home sent care packages to troops deployed overseas all year but at Christmas time, they sent small Christmas trees and goodies for the troops that were away during the Christmas season. She spent many years knitting tiny red hats for babies in the NICU at Children’s Hospital. She would deliver them for Valentine’s Day in remembrance of her mom who passed from a heart attack. She was truly the kindest and most generous person we know. We are heartbroken and will miss her so much. The world will not be the same without her kindness and hugs.

“I Will Always Love You”.
Mark and Bridgette are now riding off into the sunset.
