Obituary

Born to Eternal Life December 25, 2019, age 79 years. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Kosian). Dear father of David Jr. (Beth), Patrick (Gloria), Anne (the late Joseph) Lippert, Michelle (Steve Markgraf) and Christopher (Taniya) Lee. Loving grandfather of John (Courtney), Mike and Jackie Lee, Katharine Lee, Tyler Lippert, Ryan Glynn, Benjamin Markgraf, Alaina, Christopher Jr., Nicholas and Liana Lee, and the late Connor Glynn. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dave was a 1959 graduate of Juneau High School who went on to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. After receiving an honorable discharge for medical reasons, he returned from military service in California to marry his high school sweetheart Mary Ann Kosian in May 1960. He was the father of five children and 12 grandchildren who were the source of great pride and enjoyment.

He began his career selling and eventually owning an oriental rug business. After selling that business he shifted into a New York Life Insurance sales job before moving on to Maynard Steel Castings Company where he spent the bulk of his career as a plant maintenance manager.

After retiring from Maynard Steel he focused on his hobbies of playing softball, volley ball and home building. Starting in 1989, he started construction on a lake cottage from the ground up in northern Wisconsin where he later spent countless hours with his family. A campfire, game of cribbage and a cold glass of beer was a favorite way to spend a weekend night “up north.” Many fall weekends concluded by attending a Packers game with friends and relatives on his return trip back to Milwaukee.

Much of his life was dedicated to serving others. Many of his volunteer hours were spent helping maintain the building and grounds at St. Anthony of Padua (now St. Vincent Pallotti West) parish and helping family and friends. He could literally fix anything and bailed out many family and friends who were in their moments of need.

He will be missed by many friends and family that enjoyed his company, his sense of humor and his means to make the best of any situation that rolled his way.

Visitation Friday, January 3, from 9:30-11:30 AM at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 201 N. 76th St., with a Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Vincent Pallotti Parish or the family to be used for VA programs that assist veterans would be appreciated.

I had the honor to enjoy David's company during our volleyball and softball games over the years. David especially made our volleyball league by coordinating the various teams in a friendly competitive way. It was a pleasure to know him for those years. My condolences to his family. Phil Posard
