Died Apr. 12, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI, at age 85. Born Oct. 6, 1937, to Thorold and Gladys (Denoo) Papineau of Escanaba, MI. Joined the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians) in 1958 and was ordained a priest on June 5, 1965. Taught at Marian HS in Mishawaka, IN; Dominican College in Racine, WI; and Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, WI. Directed the former Still Point Center in Brookfield, WI. Ministered part-time at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Milwaukee. Holds Master's Degrees in Theology (Notre Dame Univ.) and Dramatic Arts (Catholic Univ. DC). A gifted preacher, writer and storyteller, he taught preaching and pastoral counseling to seminarians within the Salvatorian community and at Sacred Heart. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Wayne. Survived by niece Martine Papineau of Bruges, Belgium, and his brothers and sisters in the Salvatorian Family.

Visitation Monday, April 24, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Holy Spirit Chapel at Alexian Village, 9301 N. 76th St., Milwaukee, with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will be Monday at Salvatorian Cemetery in St. Nazianz at 3:00 PM.
