Obituary for Gary R. Knuth

Gary Roger Knuth, 78, died Wednesday February 9, 2022. He was born November 9, 1943, in Milwaukee, son of Harvey J. and Naoma F. (Gould) Knuth. Gary married Jo Horwath on December 31, 1982.

Gary enjoyed life and its challenges. He earned a blackbelt in karate, held multiple national motorcycle drag racing records, and earned his pilot’s license. He also enjoyed being a range safety officer at the Hartford Gun Club. Gary loved sailing and traveling the country with his loving wife, Jo. Becoming the creative cook in the family and a skilled craftsman were his favorite pastimes.

After surviving lung cancer, Gary and Jo moved to Neenah, with his mother, Naoma, his faithful dog, Maddy, and Gabe, his mischievous cat.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jo: stepdaughter, Dionne (Paul) Marrero; mother, Naoma; brother, Tod; five grandchildren: Joshua, Emily, D.J., Ashlynn, and Collin; three great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey; and stepson, Cory A. Laganowski.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held Sunday, April 24th at Schramka Funeral Home, 13220 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield. Visitation 11 AM- 12 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12 PM.

Gary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fredrik Jenssen, and the care team at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah. For all their care and compassion.

Gary will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his huge personality.
