Obituary for Ingeborg H. "Inge" Gibson

Ingeborg H. Gibson
July 7, 1924 - April 5, 2020

Inge Gibson, age 95 and a resident of Willowbrook Place in Thiensville Wisconsin, peacefully passed away to be with God on Palm Sunday April 5, 2020. Inge is survived by her daughter, Linda Unkefer, son-in-law, Lynn Unkefer and grandson Elliot. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Sieglinde Koppler, who lives in Austria and by nephews in Austria, Ohio and Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her loving husband , Robert Gibson.

Inge and Robert came to Thiensville from Ohio in 2016. They celebrated 71 years of marriage before Robert passed away in 2018, at the age of 99. Inge was born in Linz Austria. Robert was in the US Army during WWII and stationed in Linz when they met while Inge was volunteering at the American Red Cross. They were married in 1947 in Pennsylvania and eventually moved to Ohio where they lived until 2016.

During WWII, Inge maintained her studies, eventually graduating to become an elementary school teacher. Inge was devoted to church and family. She loved music and animals. In her early years, Inge was an avid gardener. She loved art and painting; most recently she thrived by participating in crafting during her time at Willowbrook. She enjoyed her fellow residents and the friends she made. She will be missed greatly by her family and all who knew her.
