Obituary for James D Prestidge

Found eternal peace on August 25, 2020 at the age of 91 years. Preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his brothers Ken and Pat, his daughter-in-law Jan Prestidge, his grandson Jonny Prestidge and his parents Dave and Esther. Loving father of Jim and Gary (Madrice) Prestidge. Dear grandpa of Matthew (Samantha) and Taylor Prestidge. Great-grandfather of Henry and Oliver. Brother of John Prestidge and Mickie West. Further survived by other family and friends.
Jim was born on May 13, 1929 to Dave and Esther Prestidge. He was raised in Minnesota with four siblings: Ken, Pat, John and Mickie.
Jim served in the US Navy. He met Shirley when he was on leave and visiting Milwaukee. They were married on November 17, 1953.
Jim was a Milwaukee firefighter and engineer of the Milwaukee fire boats. He made many friends through his 33 year career in Milwaukee.
Jim built his own home by himself in Watertown, he was a fantastic carpenter and he also built cabinets for his family members all the time. He enjoyed traveling every year to visit family, especially his parents in Minnesota. Jim would talk about his days hunting and fishing. He would also reminisce about a two month car trip he took to Alaska with friends. He liked to read the National Geographic and listen to old time country western music.
Visitation Friday, August 28 at Schramka Funeral Home, W164 N9034 Water Street in Menomonee Falls from 10 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
