Obituary for Mary Julia Uhlenkamp (Wasielewski)
Mary Julia Uhlenkamp (nee Wasielewski), age 76, of Milwaukee, found her final rest on November 27, 2021.
Mary was born and raised in what’s now known as the Riverwest area to Charles and Lillian (nee Freitag) Wasielewski. She attended Messmer High School. After school, Mary worked at Marine Bank and then Wisconsin Electric.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Louise and Dolores Criswell (Ray), and brothers Chuck (Florence), Daniel and Roger.
She is survived by daughters Cynthia Last (Christopher), Cherrie Johnson (Bill), and Catherine Rose, and her beloved grandchildren Griffin Last, Murphy Last, Alexander Banse, Andrew Banse, Arcadia Schmid, and Jack Bryant. Anyone who knew Mary got to hear all about her grandchildren.
Mary was known as well for her love for our pets Smokey and Abbey.
She is also survived by her sister Helen Thompson (Norman), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary had a special relationship with her nephew Robert Thompson, who gave her loving care without fail through the years. She considered Barbara Richter and Colleen Hefter dear friends and valued their years together.
We thank everyone for their support during her illness, especially the loving staff at St. Anne’s.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 10th from 6 PM- 7 PM at Schramka Funeral Home, 13220 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield. Service to follow at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus be considered (https://stannessc.org/).
