Obituary for Phyllis Geraldine Sablich (Miotti)

Phyllis Geraldine (Miotti) Sablich, 91, of Muskego, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 16, 1928 to the late Antone N. Miotti and Lenore H. (Anderson) Miotti.

Phyllis was the oldest of four children and grew up in Stambaugh, MI. She kept happy memories of time spent with family and friends at the Anderson Farm and Chicagon Lake. After graduating from Stambaugh High School in 1946, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and went on to earn her master’s degree at Michigan State University, Lansing. An enthusiastic, lifelong educator she taught in Crystal Falls and Lansing, MI, Hibbing, MN, and Muskego, WI.

Phyllis was devoted to her family and was the beloved wife of Louis G. Sablich, who preceded her in death in 1999. Phyllis is survived by the following: cherished mother of Kathryn Sablich Kaesermann (Kurt), Michael Sablich (Joanne), Anne Peterson (Eric) and John Sablich (Joni); very special Nona/Baba of Krista Klasen (Pat), Samantha Sablich, Grace Kaesermann, Nick and Tony Peterson, Cyril Sablich, Audrey Sablich; and
great-Nona of Emma and Oliver Klasen.

Loving sister to Frank Miotti (Barbara) and Jack Miotti. She is preceded in death by her sister Clarice (Miotti) Stefani.

Phyllis loved reading, traveling the world, being outdoors, Blue Lake, Anna Maria Island, her Scottish terriers, and spending every moment that she could with her family. She was a generous person whose smile both comforted and inspired; an accomplished piano player who entertained all requests; and the best pie baker that her family knows.

Visitation on Saturday May 11 starting at 10:30 a.m. with memorial service at Noon.
