Obituary for Rachel Anne Brahm

Rachel Anne Brahm went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2020, at the age of 36 after living with cancer for eight years. Rachel was born on November 4, 1983, to Margaret (Peg) (Bucher) and Delphin (Del) Brahm in Menomonee Falls, WI.

She graduated from Slinger High School in 2002. During high school, she served as the yearbook co-editor. Through this position, she volunteered for the Washington County Fair, where she was excited to set up the stage and work the spotlights for REO Speedwagon and Foreigner. Rachel received her Associate’s degrees in Computer Information Systems Network and Information Technology Computer Support from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2006.

She was a fan of Wisconsin’s sports teams, and the Brewers held a special place in Rachel’s heart. As a die-hard Brewers fan, she held season tickets for over ten years. Going to Brewers games with friends and family was a favorite summer activity. Attending concerts and sporting events was always fun. One time at a Buck’s game, she even won a certificate for twelve pizzas!

Professionally, Rachel worked at the family freight forwarding company, Brahm International, for seven years. She also worked with the Transportation Association of Milwaukee, Inc., maintaining its website and designing its newsletters.

Rachel loved her nieces and nephews tremendously, as demonstrated by the many birthday cakes and candies she made, babysitting when needed, and never forgetting a birthday. She loved Halloween, especially dressing up and trick or treating with her nephews and nieces.

Travel was important to Rachel and she loved exploring new places. In addition to local and regional trips, she visited England and China with her family as a child, and Mexico during high school. As an adult, she traveled to Alaska on a cruise, went on a Caribbean cruise, and visited Hawaii’s Big Island to celebrate her college graduation.

Rachel was predeceased by her father Del; grandparents Margaret (Haskins) and John Bucher, and Sylvia (Schulteis) and Joseph Brahm; uncle Jack Bucher and aunts Mariann Brahm and Diane (Kosterman) Brahm.

She is survived by her mother, Peg; siblings Eric (Yvonne) Wiebelhaus-Brahm, Rebecca Kapp, Veronica (A. Gerardo) Torres, and Nicholas (Lenore) Brahm; nieces and nephews Matthew and Samuel Wiebelhaus-Brahm, Elizabeth and Nathan Kapp, Diego, Elías, and Liliana Torres, and Evelyn, Solomon, Estelle, and Joseph Brahm; aunts and uncles Kathleen Bucher, Lucy Bucher, Thomas Bucher, and Jerome Brahm; great-aunt Rita Schulteis; and many friends and extended family.

Rachel will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is now with her Lord, with her dad, and pain-free. We love you, Rachel.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 200 E. Washington St., Slinger, WI, at 10:30am. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 2414 Hillside Rd, Richfield, WI. Flowers, cards, and memorial contributions to the Brewers Community Foundation or Froedtert Menomonee Falls Cancer Care Center are all welcome.

We request those in attendance to abide by the Covid-19 guidelines by wearing a mask and social distancing.
