Obituary for Raymond Robert "Ray" Kiepert

The Lord reached out his hand and took Raymond Home unexpectedly on March 27, 2022 at the age of 91. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Verona, nephew Ray Griep and granddaughter Brittany. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 66 yrs Donna (nee Kochie), children Robert (Judy), Karen Wenzel (Jimy), Thomas (Leanne), and Ron (Kathy). Proud grandfather of Rachel, Chris (Emily), Micayla, Megan, Kyle, Hannah and Gabrielle. Great grandpa to Neriah, Tyler and Aubrey; Big brother to James (Barbara) and many nephews, nieces and other friends and relations.
Raymond grew up on the northwest side of Milwaukee where he spent his early life watching Braves games at Borchert Field. After graduating from Boys Tech High School he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. Following the war he returned home to marry the love of his life Donna "Donnie" Kochie. Together they raised their family in Germantown.
For many years Raymond's days where spent as a lithographer and his nights as a caring and devoted father and husband. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and coaching sports. If there was a Badger, Brewer, Bucks or Packer game on Ray would support them from his recliner, "Get him outta the game!" In the North Woods of Wisconsin Ray would spend lots of memorable times with the family and friends.
In the 1980's Ray and Donna would move from Germantown to build their dream home in the rolling hills of the beautiful Kettle Moraine near Holy Hill. He would often feed the deer and the birds and took great pride in his yard. If there was a family function Ray never missed it. He was an aficionado of ice cream and always made the " Perfect Pot of Coffee". His love for black labs continued through his entire life. He can now have that new pup in heaven.
A proud member of American Legion Post 382, Ray would serve as a color guard shooter, he was the humble recipient of a spot on a Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and was recognized by the people of South Korea as a Hero.
