Obituary for Robert Oliver "Bob" Meier
Entered into Eternal Life unexpectedly on Wed., Dec. 25, 2019 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Hilbert, WI, the son of the late Peter and Verona (nee Helgen) Meier. Loving husband of Jean Meier for 44 years. Beloved father of Joni Vasos, step-father of Tom (Lisa) Kelepouris. Proud Papa of Tina Peiffer (Nick) and Stephanie Vasos. Cherished great-Papa of Chase, Anna and Luke Peiffer. Dear uncle of John (Kari) Surdyk and nieces Audrey and Sophia. Bob is further survived by his former son-in-law, Steve Vasos, siblings Jen Halfman and Claude “Chummy” Meier, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and other siblings.
Bob worked as a Banker for First National Bank of Glendale, First Star Bank, U.S. Bank, Liberty Bank, Associated Bank and others all in the Milwaukee Area. He was a member of Lumen Christi Catholic Parish, Elks Lodge #46 and was an avid volunteer at the Saukville Humane Society. Bob attended Marquette University, and donated gallons of his rare blood type to help others. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing; most of all he loved spending time with his family and cherished the time he had walking his beloved dogs over the years.
A visitation will be held on Fri., Jan. 3, 2020 from 12:30PM until the time of the 2:00PM Memorial Service at the Schramka Funeral Home, 423 N. Main St. Thiensville, WI, private inurnment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in Bob’s name to the Saukville Humane Society, 630 W. Dekora St. Saukville, WI 53080, would be appreciated.
