Rosemary Krebs, 95, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.
Born on May 1, 1923 to the late Alfred John Schmit and Anastasia "Daisy" Paulus, Rosemary was one of six children. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She met her future husband, Joseph "Joe" Michael Krebs, Jr while attending Milwaukee Vocational School.
During WWII she served honorably in the United States Navy in Washington, DC as an aide to Lt. Cornelius Van Shaak Roosevelt. Upon Joe's return from POW status, they were married in Port Washington. They had six children.

She skied in the Austrian Alps and made several trips to Colorado. She loved traveling and enjoyed trips with her family to Alaska, Hawaii and Europe. To celebrate her 80th birthday, she traveled to Charlotte and rode in a NASCAR race car. Rosemary also had the privilege of being on an Honor Flight.
Rosemary was artistic and won several awards for her porcelain, ceramics and quilting. A major joy in her life was sewing. She was a teacher and mentor for several quilting clubs. She helped provide quilts to veteran's organizations and those in need.
Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, husband, her son John, daughter Rosemary, two brothers, and a sister. She is survived by her children: Karen (LeRoy Pogodzinski), Barbara Meinerz, Thomas, and Robert (Susan). Grandchildren: Joseph Meinerz, Madelyn Krebs and Ian Krebs. Great-grandchild Elise Meinerz.

Karen, Barbara, Tommy, and Rob!
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was an amazing woman! I have very special memories of Aunt Rosemary and the times we were all together. Wish we had spent more time together growing up, and
in our later years. On this sad occasion, thinking of the loved ones we have lost, I miss them all so much! Love and prayers. Nan (Schmit) Hegedus
