Obituary for Susan J. Kallies

The caring soul of Susan Jean Kallies who resided in Franklin, Wisconsin was born to life on October 4, 1954, and was born to everlasting life on March 19, 2023.

Susan was preceded in death by her loving and devoted parents, Raymond and Jeanne Kallies.
Susan will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings Jack (Ellen) Kallies, Kathie (the late Cal) Graham, Carol (Mark) Maletzke, and Jim (Chris) Kallies.

Susan will be tenderly remembered by her surviving nieces and nephews Kara Kallies, Jack Kallies, Tom (Genevieve) Kallies, Lindsay (Bob) Schwandner, Kelsey Graham, Michael (Dani) Maletzke, Katie (Chris) Bullock, Markie (Chris) Otto, Daniel (Michelle) Kallies, and Kyle Kallies.

Great stories of Susan’s love of her nieces and nephews will be told to her surviving great nieces and great nephews Ellison and Benjamin Bullock, Karlie, Kamdyn, Kailey, and Kendall Schwandner, Jack Maletzke, Colin Kallies, Kennedy Otto, and the awaiting Baby Boy Kallies.

Susan is also survived by many friends and neighbors. She cherished her friendships with Barb (Tim) Woldt, Jody (Pat) and Nathan Lilly. Susan shared a very special bond of friendship with her forever “Bestie” the beloved and devoted Suzanne Kletch.

Susan was a devoted Milwaukee Public School Special Education teacher for 18 years. Her devotion to her special needs students was an inspiration to her family and friends as Susan refused to give up on them no matter their challenges.

Susan had a true love and passion for photography and nature. Her photographs shared beautiful illustrations of wildlife, especially colorful birds of many varieties. She loved her time at the “Maletzke Lake Alva Resort” photographing all her family along with the up-north wildlife, especially the loons and bald eagles.

Susan loved her family and friends immeasurably, as they immeasurably loved her wholeheartedly. She is gone from our sight but will never be forgotten. Susan will be missed and will always hold a treasured place in the hearts of all who loved her.
