Preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Martha Hausmann, her brother Hans and sister-in-law Cathy. Survived by her loving husband Gerd, daughter Sandra (Phil), grandchildren Ally, Philip, Karina and Nick and her sister Astrid.
Traudel was born in Bad Hersfeld, Germany on November 22, 1937. While immigrating to America in 1956, she met the love of her life, Gerd, on the boat. On June 8, of 1958 they married and settled in Milwaukee. In her younger years she volunteered at a nursing home where she spent many hours talking with the residents and making them smile. She worked for First Wisconsin Bank in downtown Milwaukee for 20 Years. She loved her job because it gave her a chance to meet and befriend people from all over the world.
As a devoted mother she always put the needs of her family before her own. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She would tell everyone she met about them. When she would visit, they would run to her with open arms.
With her love of flowers and bright colors it is easy to see why nothing made her happier than seeing other people smile and be happy. Her generous nature was reflected in that if anyone needed anything, even a stranger, she would help them.
Visitation will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield, on Saturday February 27, 2021 in the Chapel of the Flowers at 10:00 AM with service to follow at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in The Garden of Eternal Life. Under the current circumstances the visitation and service are private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation in Traudel’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America. www.lupus.org
