Obituary for Valerie Lee Garrison

Valerie “Val” Garrison was born January 18, 1952 to the union of Samuel and Rita Garrison in Bronx, New York. She was the third of six children.

At an early age, the family moved to Milwaukee, WI. She received her early education from St. Francis of Assisi grade school and her high school diploma from Riverside University High School in Milwaukee.

Not long after graduating, Val moved to California where she worked at Southern California Edison. Val loved to travel and always had the wander lust. She decided to give living in another country a try and moved to Hong Kong, China. Hong Kong is where she began her career in the hospitality industry. Valerie worked at the Bottoms Up Club for over 30 years. During that time she traveled extensively in Europe. Her next stop was Dubai where she worked at a lighting company. She returned home to Milwaukee in 2010.

Val enjoyed game shows, especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also liked to be challenged. Some of her favorite pastimes were spent doing Sudoku, jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

On November 24, 2021, Val took on her last trip. She transitioned from this life to the next.

Val leaves to cherish her memory: sisters, Barbara Garrison, Rita (Phillip) Roloff, Melinda (Kevin) Shanklin, and brother, Eugene (late Beverly) Garrison; aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
Val was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Deborah Mosley.
