Obituary for William Albert Graumann

William (Bill) Albert Graumann, 88, a resident of Muskego, WI., surrounded by family, passed from his home into the arms of his loving Savior on Sunday, Sep 20th, 2020. He was born at home in Kenosha, WI, on March 8th, 1932, to Albert and Emmy Graumann.

Bill was baptized, confirmed and attended Frieden’s Lutheran Church and School, Graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School, Gateway Technical College, Carthage College and Marquette.
He was called to serve his country in 1952, serving overseas as a helicopter mechanic in Korea. He was honorably discharged January of 1955 at Fort Lewis in Washington. While in Seattle he met a Wisconsin girl, Avis, “The one who won’t get away”. He married Avis Lucille Meier on November 5th, 1955 in Menomonie, WI. The couple enjoyed 64 wonderful years together living in Kenosha, Rome, and Muskego WI.

Bill worked for Simmons, Coopers (Jockey), Macwhyte and Frank L. Wells, retiring as Comptroller from Frank L. Wells after 24 years of service. During those years in Kenosha he was very involved in his community and church serving on many boards and committees including Education for Employment, Church council, Charity Giving, PTO president, and numerous others. On retiring he continued to serve church and community on Arrowhead Association, Town of Rome and Adams County boards. He was involved in his local VFW and served on the Honor Guard.

Bill was an incredible example of how to live a full, productive, patriotic, and Godly life. A loving and supportive husband. An amazing and actively involved father who nurtured and prepared his children for life. A grandfather who always had a smile, love, and interest in the lives of his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his six children, Richard (Judy) Graumann, Almond, WI., Kurt (Anne) Graumann, Hasting, MN., Ruth (Peter) Mallmann, Genoa City, WI., William (Becky) Graumann Fort Atkinson, WI., Michael (Lindsey) Graumann, Rome WI., and Thomas (Casey) Graumann, Harvey LA,: 18 Grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren; brother Dennis Graumann of Ridgecrest, CA.

Proceeded in death by his parents Albert and Emmy, Sister Ann, Daughter Karen and infant grandson Teddy.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 1:00 PM until the time of the 2:00 PM Memorial Service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, S66 W14325 W Janesville Rd, Muskego, WI 53150. Inurnment will be held on November 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182, with full Military Honors.
