Alice Ehlert

January 12, 1936 — October 15, 2021

Born to Eternal Life on October 15, 2021 at the age of 85 years. Beloved sister of Ralph (Ruth) Ehlert. Loving aunt and great aunt of Susan (Larry) Sveda and sons Joey (Paige) and John, John Ehlert and children Nicole and Joshua, Ann (Ken) Jahns and sons Brad (Karyn) Hall and Eric Hall and David (Kim) Ehlert and sons Ryan and Nathan. Further survived by other relatives, former students and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Helen (Stark) Ehlert. She attended Greenfield School, Walker Jr High School and South Division High School before graduating from UW Milwaukee. She was an upper elementary teacher at Greenfield School, Mitchell School and Forest Home Avenue School. Alice was a hand crafter, and she sewed, cross stitched, crocheted, hooked rugs and created numerous fine-thread tatted pieces and bobbin lace. She shared her passion by sharing many of her projects with those she loved and by teaching tatting at Wilson Park Senior Center. She was a world traveler and played the clarinet, recorder and organ. She retired early to care for her parents. The family is grateful for the support of Horizon Hospice and Heritage at Deer Creek. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church of West Allis or an organization of your choice. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church of West Allis, 7520 West Lapham St on Thursday, Oct 21 from 10:00am until time of Service at 11:00am. Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park.
