Age 83, of Oshkosh, WI formerly of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a courageous battle with mesothelioma Cancer. With the blessed assurance of the Lord's love and mercy, Andy was called home to the embrace of his heavenly Father on December 1, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Agnes Hetzel and sister Florette Knueppel (the late Donald). He is survived by his devoted and most loving wife Marion (nee Kuczkowski) of 62 years. Cherished father of daughter Dotti (Tom) Binder and sons Andy (Stephanie), Larry (Lynn), Tony (Susan) and Dave (Cheryl); proud grandpa of Jameson, Dan, Alex, Christy (Kevin), Andy III (Melinda), Ben, Jamie (Chad), Erin (Bryant), Kaitlyn, Zach, Adriana, Brittney (Zach), Justin (Hailey) and Christopher; and proud great-grandpa of ten great-grandchildren. Further survived by siblings Dolores Knueppel (the late Norbert), Mary Froschmayer (the late Mathew), William Hetzel (the late Beatrice), Margaret Kaczmarek (Michael) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Andy worked as an Estimator for Langer Roofing for 22 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and a lay minister of the sick at St. Catherine of Alexandria in Milwaukee until 1996. He continued his faith journey of life and faith as a dedicated member of St. Raphael's in Oshkosh after relocating from Milwaukee. Andy was a member of American Legion Post #70 and a member of the Elks Lodge 292. He served his country proudly in the Army in the Korean War.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 4-7pm at Schramka Funeral Home, 423 North Main Street, Thiensville, with a family eulogy to follow. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Edward Looney and Fr. Dave Duffeck concelebrating, will be held at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 8661 North 76th Place, Milwaukee, on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon.
