Anne Emmons

Anne Marie Emmons 12/25/1956 – 8/11/2019 Anne Emmons (Gvora), God's Angel on earth was called home by the Lord peacefully with her family beside her on Sunday August 11th, 2019. After a lifetime of battling cancer & illness, it was time for Anne to bring her work to God's Kingdom. While Heaven is celebrating her return home, the world we live in has less color, joy and peace without Anne in it. Anne was a loving wife doted on by her husband Del Emmons for 40 years during which the two were inseparable. Anne was a beloved mother and guiding light to her only child Melissa Barbour. Grandmother, friend and confidante to Alexa, Hailey and Grayson Barbour. Born on December 25, 1956 and raised in Wauwatosa, WI. Anne was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Gvora and was a daughter and partner in crime of Joseph Gvora, sister to Tom Gvora (Ellen) and Mary Riemer. Aunt to Joe, Ed, and Esther Gvora, Taylor and Logan Riemer and Laura (David) Moreland and Chris (Kathy) Hightower. A loving mother and homemaker, Anne was a remarkable cook and loved making food for her friends and family. She was a prankster and bartender extraordinaire. If she was throwing a party you can bet there would be some good stories from it and you would want to be there. She loved to travel, spend time with her family, have fun and make everybody laugh. She enjoyed winters in Scottsdale, AZ with her husband and summers in Wisconsin with her family. A giver, she was always there to help a family member, friend and stranger in need and would go above and beyond to do what she could for them. In fact the majority of her life was spent doing things for others. Anne's legacy of giving continues through her generous decision to be a cornea donor. She will be deeply missed by all. Her family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI for their exceptional care given to her in her final days. Visitation will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 12801 W. Fairmount Ave in Butler, WI on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Anne's name may be made to St Luke's Aurora Healthcare Foundation, they can be mailed to - Aurora St. Luke's Greatest Needs Fund, 950 N. 12th Street, Suite A511, Milwaukee, WI 53233 or memorial contributions may be brought to church and placed in the card box.
