Barbara Adler

July 7, 1939 — August 31, 2020

Barbara Ann Adler (Nee Smith) July 07, 1939 – August 31, 2020 Passed away peacefully at home and entered Eternal Life August 31, 2020. Age 81years. Dearest "Love" of Raymond for 62 years. Loving Mom of Pamela (Dennis), Diane (Scott), Debra (Jim), and Kim (John). Proud Grandma of 7 grandchildren: Eric, Amanda, Christopher, Garret, Evan, Grace (Ryan), Britney (Blake) and 3 great grandchildren (Gavin, Ileana, Ptolemy). Further survived by dear Sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a Humane Society are welcome. Private Family Visitation and Service will be held. Barbara was born in Watertown, met Raymond in 1957, fell in love and married one year later. Initially, the family enjoyed camping and canoeing together, which led to a summer home near Wisconsin Dells for 37 years that was very much enjoyed and appreciated. Barbara's daughters each have their own beautiful memories of time shared with her that will be treasured forever. Because of her faith, she taught her daughters to trust and love Jesus. Grandma Barb enjoyed caring for her grandchildren in their early years, which included teaching them, playing with them and reading to them. Her passion for sewing resulted in sewing clothes for her daughters and later for her grandchildren. Early on she was a waitress and later worked in retail and because of her love for sewing and crafting, she joined JoAnn Fabrics until she retired. When she retired, Barbara continued to sew doll clothes and crafts and enjoyed working in craft shows with Ray to share her beautiful work. Barb and Ray loved to travel in their life together as they were able. This included cruises, river boat tours, Hawaii, San Francisco, and Europe (touring 4 countries). They videotaped their adventures so that the memories were shared with family. Barbara's passions in life included prayer, baking, sewing, caring for her beloved pets including her Gypsy, feeding her feathered friends, hummingbirds and orioles and loving her husband, her family and others. Barbara loved playing the slots at numerous casinos and she believed her luck was influenced by the ruby ring she wore daily from her mother. We will miss everything about Barbara, her smile, her contagious laugh, her youthful voice, the sparkle in her eyes, and generous love she shared with family and others. Until we meet again!
