LAHRS, Fr. Carey SDS - Died July 5, 2018 at the age of 73. He was a resident of Alexian Village. Born November 27, 1944, in Watertown, NY, to Edward and Marjorie (Carey) Lahrs. Joined the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians) on September 8, 1963. Ordained a priest on September 1, 1972. Taught at Francis Jordan High School in Milwaukee, Bishop Manogue High School in Reno, NV, and Pacelli High School in Columbus, GA. Also served as Chaplain for the Army Reserve at Fort Benning. Ministered in parishes around Chilton, Wisconsin, and was pastor at Mother of Good Counsel Church in Milwaukee until his retirement in 2008. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marjorie, and one brother, Michael. Survived by three brothers: Richard (Linda) of Leesburg, FL; James (JoAnn) of Cheektowaga, NY; Timothy of Kenmore, NY; one sister, Elizabeth Anne (James) Collins of Greer, SC; sister-in-law Barbara of Cheektowaga, NY; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his brothers and sisters in the Salvatorian Family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 10, 11am at The Chapel of Alexian Village, 9301 N. 76th St. Visitation Tuesday at the Chapel from 10am until time of Mass. Burial Tuesday, 3:00pm at Salvatorian Cemetery in St. Nazianz, WI.
