Ryan, Carolyn D, nee Doyle, of Greenville, SC passed away peacefully, listening to her song "Sweet Caroline"  with her children by her side on February 24, 2025 in Menomonee Falls, WI. Born in Baltimore,MD to Warren A. And Marian E. Doyle (nee Foster), she moved all over the US, as her father was a CPA for Shell Oil. She had a sister Cheryl (Jack) Huppert of Greenville,SC. After her father passed away, her mother remarried James E. Farrell. That union gave her a half brother, Lawrence (Kim) Farrell of NJ. Carolyn met the love of her life , John "Kevin", in high school and married in 1968 at Our Lady of Mercy in Park Ridge, New Jersey. Before becoming a mother, Carolyn worked for the Coca-Cola Export Corporation in New York City as an executive secretary to the Chairman of the Board and Politician, James Farley. She enjoyed taking memos by shorthand and calling the White House. She was the best mom ever to her four children, Kellie (Doug) Dietz of Greenville, SC;  Laura (Jed) Bowen of Upper Saddle River, NJ; Susan (Mike)Nasif of Jackson, WI; and John J Ryan III of Greenville, SC. She had 9 Grandchildren, Ryan (Alexa) Dietz; Eric Dietz; Jared, Ben, & Will Bowen; Sarah & Nathan Nasif; Daniel & Noah Ryan. She was a social butterfly. She was blessed to have lifelong friends whom she also called family. She continued to work in New York City, retiring in 2002 as an Office Manager for The Clarett Group, after having a stroke. Carolyn was a published author; she wrote about the challenges of life after stroke. She faced her challenges with humor, always finding ways to laugh. She defined what it means to be resilient. Carolyn was very creative and  loved the color purple. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, cooking, music, dancing, trivia games, telling one liners (Caroliner's), and hosting family events. She knew how to throw a party and make everyone feel loved. Carolyn spent her final years in Menomonee Falls, WI at Grace Commons. The caregivers loved their Carolyn Cookie Monster, and she loved them back. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and grandson, Jared.
