Catherine "Katie" F. Bacik Passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023 at the age of 86. Katie was born on June 9, 1937 to the late Sygmund and Cassie (nee Jaraczewski) Walczak. Preceded in death by her husband George H. Bacik, grandson Joshua Carson, and other brothers and sisters.
Loving mother of Dawn (Phil) Carson, Michele (John) Budzinski, and George (Connie) Bacik. Loving grandmother "Grammie" of Philip, Jake, Michael, Carly, George, Lindsay and Lauren. Loving great-grandma "GiGi" of Raegan, Tessa, Sasha, John, and Theo. Further survived by loving sisters JoJo Ruditys, Lou Herrmann and sister-in-law Beverly Walczak.
On September 12th 1959 Katie was united in marriage to George Bacik. They lived briefly in Milwaukee, and then settled in Brookfield where they raised their 3 children. Katie worked most of her career in the medical field, and spent 34 years at the Wisconsin Health Fund where she formed many long standing friendships with colleagues and patients.
Katie lived life to the fullest. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends. She was well known for her incredible holiday family feasts and get-togethers where delicious food was served and no details forgotten. For decades, she coordinated large family picnics. Katie was also a lover of games, always ready for a game of gin or Yahtzee. Katie loved her church community, and was an active volunteer. Katie loved her family and friends deeply and would do anything for them.
Katie's family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the caring staff of Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
A celebration of Katie's life will take place on Friday, October 6th from 10:30am - 12 pm, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center St., Wauwatosa, WI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm at St. Joseph's. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Angels Grace Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
