Charlotte Kosidowski, born October 31,1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, went to be with her daughters, Sue and Annie in heaven on May 21, 2025. Charlotte was the only child of Gladys and George Koch.
Charlotte attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and St. Mary's Academy High School. She graduated from Marquette University in 1956 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She made lifelong friendships at every school she attended. She attended gatherings with her St. Mary's friends several times a year.
In her youth, Charlotte had many jobs that helped her shape the person she became. She worked one summer with a family in Northern Wisconsin and enjoyed the outdoors. Charlotte's favorite high school job was at Fanny Farmer Candy. She developed her love for chocolate there, and as much as she sampled, she never lost her affection for anything chocolate.
Attending Marquette University was one of the highlights of her life. She was in the 2-year dental hygiene program but chose to carry on to a 4-year degree at the wish of her father who valued higher education because he never had the opportunity.
It was at Marquette that Charlotte met the love of her life, Hank. They were both commuter students (day-hop), but were actively involved in Greek life. Charlotte was an active member of Delta Sigma Epsilon. Hank met Charlotte on a blind date attending the Holly Ball.
Upon graduation Hank went into the army and was stationed in Nuremberg, Germany. Hank and Charlotte exchanged letters regularly through his years in the service while Charlotte worked as a dental hygienist for Milwaukee County. Charlotte knew Hank was the right match for her and would send money to Hank to purchase their china and crystal, which he shipped back from Germany.
Upon Hank's return, they married on November 8, 1958, eventually celebrating 66 years of marriage, and had four children in their first 6 years together. Being an only child, Charlotte appreciated being part of Hank's large family.
After retirement they enjoyed numerous winters in Naples, Florida, connecting with many of their Marquette friends and making new friends. Summers at Elkhart Lake were a favorite for the grandchildren.
Charlotte was very strong in her faith. While she was always a behind-the-scenes worker, she had a gentle spirit and devoted herself to the well-being of those around her. Her thoughtful nature was evident in the countless ways she touched lives—the heartfelt cards she sent, the delicious baked cookies she shared, and the beautiful handknit items she crafted. Her generous acts of kindness left a lasting impact, ensuring that everyone felt cared for and cherished.
She enjoyed her St. Mary's classmates, Lamplighter Park neighbors, knitting group friends, Naples, Florida snowbirds and her most recent group of friends made at the Congregational Home.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hank; her children Paul (Kathy), late Ann, Mary (Bob) Brueggeman, late Sue (Jim) O'Neal. The best "Ga" to Brian and Jeff O'Neal, Joe Kosidowski and Susan Brueggeman.
The Kosidowski family would like to thank the devoted staff at Zilber Family Hospice for their loving attention and tender care.
A visitation will be held Tuesday June 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 800 Glenview Avenue, Wauwatosa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte's name to St. Coletta's of Wisconsin, N4637 County Road Y, Jefferson, WI 53549.
