Craig A. Strandt
Passed away July 27, 2021 at the age of 69. Loving brother of Robert "Bob" (Geri), the late Michael "Mick" (Sue), Douglas "Doug" (Linda), Gwynne (the late Marty Sr.) Cvikel, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Robert) Kovach, the late Roberta "Robbi" Strandt, Luann (Michael) Bulow, and Lisa (the late Jim) Murray. Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Janet Strandt. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Craig was the youngest of the four boys, followed by five sisters. Having nine children to raise, could have been a contributing factor to our parents always looking tired. Craig had an active early life, launching himself off the family swing set and breaking both his wrists. As a teen Craig had worked on a sod farm and later diamond core drilling that he enjoyed. Craig's senior year at New Berlin West High School, changed his life's path. A single car accident placed Craig in a six month coma. Craig continued his graduating moments from coma, to a wheelchair, to a walker, to a cane and then walking and walked for several years.
Following the Strandt family tradition, Craig liked food, favorites being Big Mac burgers without pickles, chocolate shakes root beer and Little Debbie treats.
While at Lakeview Specialty Hospital & Rehab, he took pride in the task of shredding papers. He called it his job.
Craig enjoyed visiting with family and friends, doing jigsaw puzzles, Playing Uno and 21.
Most people Craig met, he called them Shorty.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 1 from 2-4 PM at Schramka-Borgwardt Funeral Home, 11030 W Forest Home Ave, Hales Corners. Service to follow at 4 PM. Being a big Wisconsin sports fans, the family is encouraging everyone attending the service to wear sports apparel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Craig's name to the Brain Injury Association of America.
