Daniel C. Stancl of Mequon was Born to Eternal Life on November 11, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Melrose (Morrison) and his son Michael. Survived by his children Thomas (Rebecca) and Gerald, grandson Ryan and daughter in law Sherry.
Dan served 15 months in the Navy during World War II and achieved the rank of Coxswain. After the war he started in the Advertising Department at then Wisconsin Electric Power Company and later became a supervisor in the Printing Department where he worked until his retirement in 1986 after over 39 years of service.
An avid hunter of waterfowl, upland birds and other animals for 50 years, Dan was skilled in the use of riffles, shotguns and the bow and arrow. Other interests included fishing in Wisconsin and Canada and snorkeling in the Florida Keys and Mexico.
Dan was interested in many of the Physical Sciences including Botany, Geology, Archeology, and Paleontology. He was also an amateur Lepidopterist (butterflies) and a Mycologist (mushrooms).
Musically Dan loved Big Band Music, Jazz and Bossa Nova. His very favorite singer, however, was "The Chairman of the Board", "Old Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra.
A Visitation has been planned for Tuesday November 16 at the Schramka Funeral Home in Brookfield from 11:00 to 1:30 followed by prayers of committal at 1:30, and will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in Dan's name to the Ozaukee County Humane Society.
