Deborah Ann Kaye (nee Eifler) passed away August 25, 2021 at the age of 63 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Deb was born in Long Beach, California to Carl Henry and Cecyle Erskine Eifler. The youngest of four, she spent a wonderful childhood chasing after her older brothers in Pacific Grove, California. She felt a lifelong connection to Monterey Bay, though her time there was tragically cut short by the death of her parents. Carl passed when she was six and Cecyle when she was eleven. The Eifler children moved to Iowa City in 1968. Deb's later teen years were spent living in the home of Charles and Karen Rohm and their kids Todd, Jeff, Lisa and Mark Rohm. They became her second family. After graduating high school, Deb moved to Milwaukee, where she met and married John Kaye. Motherhood was Deb's greatest joy. Raising her two children, Sandra Catherine and David Kenneth Kaye also gave her a chance to embrace the childhood she never got to fully experience. She earned an Associates Degree and made her career in Horticulture and landscape design. She enjoyed gardening for as long as her health allowed. Deb was always open and supportive of all her kid's friends, especially into their teen years. Countless young people from Highland Community School to Milwaukee High School of the Arts found a second mother in Deb - an adult they could talk to about anything without judgment. She is survived by her children Sandy (Dan) Carlson-Kaye and David (Johanna) Kaye, former husband John (Annie Wacker) Kaye, parents Karen and Chuck Rohm, siblings Bruce Eifler, Todd (Cleo), Jeff (Denise), Lisa and Mark Rohm, brother-in-law Rik (Diane Tukman) Kaye, sister-in-law Cathy (Chris Gawronski) Kaye, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Carl and Cecyle Eifler, brothers Robert and David Eifler, and parents-in-law Ken and Jan Kaye. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, August 27th at Schramka Funeral Home, 13220 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield. Visitation from 4:00 to 6:00PM, with a Time of Remembrance at 6:00PM.
