Dennis M. Mundell

Aug 12, 1960 — Sep 21, 2026

Saint Francis

AUGUST 12, 1960 • SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

Born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, Dennis was the fourth of six children of Gale and Diann Mundell and a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. He attended Gaenslen Elementary, Riverside High School (Class of 1978), UWM and online courses, and With a Little Help summer camp.

Known for his iconic hat, humor, gifts, and lessons, Dennis was a protector and family patriarch. He had no biological children; in his Native family, his sisters' children were his children, and he loved the generations that followed. Dennis had muscular dystrophy, but it did not have him. As he said, he had a disability, but he was not disabled. His strength and love live on in the family's stories.
