Dennis Patrick Regan, 73, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025. Born on May 7, 1951, in Milwaukee, Dennis lived a life filled with creativity, laughter, and a deep love for his city and its people. A gifted poet and playwright, Dennis was an integral part in the origins of Milwaukee Irish Arts, where he shared his passion for storytelling and the rich traditions of Irish theater. Whether through the written word or the stage, he had an uncanny ability to capture life's humor, struggles, and beauty. Dennis was a career bartender, a role that perfectly suited his sharp wit, eccentric charisma, and ability to make everyone feel like an old friend. He was a fixture of Milwaukee's "fashionable" East Side, a place he loved dearly and called home for much of his life. His appreciation for good conversation, a well-poured drink, and the vibrant energy of the city made him a hailed presence wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Marion Regan (née Hammond), his brother Michael Regan, brother-in-law Dennis Fadeski, and cousins Jessica Uniack and Brigid Boyle. Dennis is survived by his beloved sister and best friend, Erin J. Fadeski, and his sister-in-law, Linda Regan. He was a cherished uncle to Kelly (Adrian) Robar, Dennis (Brooke) Fadeski, Dan (Monica) Regan, Katie (Alec) Raley, Kari Cho, Billy (Caitlin) Uniack, Alex (Ali) Uniack, Erin (John) Hennen, and Meghan (Nick) West. He was a proud great-uncle to Addison, George Patrick, Taylor, Malayna, Dean, Darcy, Sammie, Maddie, Will, Brendan, Jack, Nolan, Kelly, Grace, and Sean. Dennis shared a lifelong love with Nancy Kisting and was blessed with many dear friends who will miss his wit, humor, and cantankerous spirit. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 2:00–5:00 PM at O'Donoghue's Irish Pub, 13225 W. Watertown Plank Rd., Elm Grove, WI. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and raise a glass to a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to CelticMKE, an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Irish culture in Milwaukee. "Four strong winds that blow lonely Seven seas that run high All those things that don't change come what may If the good times are all gone Then I'm bound for moving on I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way."
