Edward Schaefer

age 87 passed peacefully on Wed. 1/6/16. Ed was preceded in death by his children, Mary Jo Rommel, John and David, and granddaughter Katie. He is survived by Lois, his loving wife of 66 years. He is further survived by his children, Lynn (Michael) Van Roo, Mark, Diane (Joseph) Strosin, Scott (Mary), Darlene (Karl) Egle, Carl and Patti (Charles) Hieland, and son-in-law Dennis Rommel. Further survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Ed retired from the Milwaukee Police Department after 32 years of service. He spent his retirement years living on Silver Spring Lake in Neshkoro, WI. WW II Veteran US Navy. Proud member of the Neshkoro Lion's Club and Waushara County Golf Course. Ed was loved deeply and will be missed. Memorial service will be held Sunday, January 17 at 4 PM at the funeral home. Visitation from 2 PM until the time of service. Private burial in Neshkoro, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (PO BOX 636 Port Washington, WI 53074) appreciated.
