Edward Welch

Edward D. Welch, Jr. Of Cedarburg, Wisconsin passed away at his apartment at the age of 86 on February 27, 2022. Formerly of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, Ed was the beloved husband of the late Judy Welch (1937-2014) for 55 years. Loving father of Tim (Wendy) Welch, Sandy Welch, and Chuck (Janie) Schwamb. Proud grandfather of Conor and Rory Welch, Terri Kruse, and Nikki Schwamb. Brother of Terry Welch and Donna Noeske. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In 1953, Ed enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served on the USS New Jersey. After his honorable discharge, he worked for the Village of Fox Point and Village of River Hills Department of Public Works. Ed then became a firefighter with the Brown Deer Fire Department, was promoted to Lieutenant, and retired after a 23-year career. After retirement, Ed and Judy moved to their Lac du Flambeau cottage where they lived for 5 years until moving to their Mercer, Wisconsin home. Ed moved to Grafton, Wisconsin in 2015 to be closer to family. Per Ed's wishes no service will be held. Memorials to the American Cancer Society for pancreatic cancer research would be appreciated.
