Elwyn Herferth

Elwyn George Herferth of Franklin passed away on July 28, 2021. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 Years, Lillian. Elwyn is survived by his children Donna Smith (Roger Klem), Cindi (Ken) Wright, Lori Holm, and Lisa (Dave) Burrows; grandchildren Jared (Jodi) Wright, Lauren (Michael) Gregory, Cedric Wright and Melanie Burrows; great-grandchildren Carter Wright, Sage Gregory, Cedar Gregory and Nessa Wright. After proudly serving his country as a medic during the Korean War, Elwyn worked for Harnischfeger for 42 years. For many years he was a Head Elder with The Northwest Seventh - day Adventist Church where his love of all animals provided him with material for countless stories he would tell the children. To relax he had many hobbies that revolved around planes, trains and automobiles. We are grateful for the loving support and prayers of our family, friends and co-workers especially to the staff at St. Luke's Medical Center on 5KLM. It is a comfort to know that the next face he will see will be Jesus.
