Stramowski, Eva
(nee Alex) Born peacefully to eternal life on June 22nd, 2020 at the age of 98. Loving aunt of Mark Tehle, Bernd Becker and Rosi Hegedorn.
Eva was preceded in death by her late beloved husband Joseph S. Stramowski, after 48 years of marriage. Also preceded by loving parents Franz and Lydia Alex, her dear sisters Irene, Herta, and Hella, and brother Fritz.
Eva was born in a small town of Germany on May 12, 1922, and was the youngest of 5 children.
At the age of 22 Eva fell in love with Joseph Stramowski, and got married in Germany. Sadly, they had a little girl who passed away from meningitis as a baby. In 1949 they came to America. In 1952 they built a home in West Allis. In 1955, Eva became a US Citizen and began her 27-year career as a Registered Nurse for the Milwaukee County. Eva retired from the Milwaukee County in 1982, and later began working part time at Gimbles. In 1990 Joe passed after celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary.
After Joe passed, Eva became an active member of the Mount Hope Lutheran Church in West Allis, and was involved in many church activities with her dear friend Dorothy Wendlandt. Eva and Dorothy were inseparable, going to church, enjoying each other's company, traveling, and having their daily cake and coffee time together. In 2005 Eva found companionship with dear friend Tony Corrao. Together they enjoyed daily travel trips, spending time with neighbors Horst and Helmut Holstein, and attending every holiday gathering at Karen Hanson's home, Eva's beloved family friend. In 2015 Eva moved into the Village at Manor Park assisted living facility to be close to her friend Dorothy. Again, Eva and Dorothy were inseparable at VMP, and cherished their time together with Karen's daily visits.
Karen and her family will miss Eva dearly.
