Felicia Cassia (Czerwinski) Johnson, 83, of Mequon, WI, entered the fullness of Eternal Life on September 4th, 2025, after a full life of education, compassion, adventure and love. She was known for her unwavering generosity—her home, her fridge, her arms, and her heart were always open to others.
Felicia was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 24, 1942, to the late Stanley & Elsa Czerwinski. She grew up on the East side of Milwaukee, graduating from Riverside High School in 1960. Felicia earned her bachelor's in education from UW-Oshkosh and master's from UW-Milwaukee. She was passionate about education and was both a lifelong learner and teacher.
Felicia met Michael Johnson in May of 1969 after being swooned by his red '69 Firebird. They were married July 3, 1971, and raised two boys on the East side of Milwaukee before moving to Mequon in 1988. Felicia's devotion to her family knew no bounds. She was always present, either at the finish line of Chris's races or in the stands of Josh's basketball games, offering love and encouragement.
Felicia had a deep love for flying, and her desire to help others allowed her to combine both passions as a dedicated member of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Through CAP, she forged lifelong friendships and created unforgettable memories. She shared this love for aviation by taking her family on CAP camping trips and grandkids to the EAA, where laughter and stories filled the air.
Felicia taught at Amy Belle Elementary School in Germantown, WI for 35 years. She was truly blessed with wonderful staff and students. Not only did she have the privilege of teaching them, but they, in turn, taught her so much, enriching her life in countless ways. Felicia was known for bringing creativity, humor, fun, inclusiveness and passion to the classroom with many students remaining in contact with her after leaving Amy Belle.
After retiring in 2004 Felicia was frequently found traveling, teaching water aerobics, or spending time with family and friends. Felicia loved to travel, but more importantly was the love she had for those she traveled with, making each adventure special. When she wasn't traveling, Felicia found true joy in teaching water aerobics. With her boombox in hand and boundless energy, she didn't just teach. She built friendships over the many years which brought her the most fulfillment.
Despite her busy life, Felicia always found time for family and friends. Whether it was endless craft projects, reading books, attending school activities, enjoying shows, or sharing lunches, she made every moment count with those she loved.
Felicia is survived by her son Joshua (Jennifer) Johnson and grandchildren: Elsa, Langston, Kendall, Aryn Johnson and step-granddaughter Kisa Chubb. Extended family Sue (Bill) Kusnierz and Tori (John) Morse-Elliott. Close family friends Be (Amanda) Ware, Shaun (Samantha) Schuetz, Laura (Justin) Poenitsch and many families and friends. She was preceded in death by husband Michael and son Christian.
