Frances Von Selzam

Frances "Fran" (Neisler) von Selzam, surrounded by family, passed peacefully to God on Sunday, Oct 4, 2020 at the age of 81. Frances was born in Milliken, CO, the daughter of the late John A. and Helen F. Neisler. She married Ruediger von Selzam. Loving mother of Barbara (Dan) Schaich and Erika (Paul) Sobish. Cherished grandmother of Jordan and Leah. Dear sister of Faith (the late Walter) Kelleigh. Loving companion of J. Pat Stephens. She is further survived by other family and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ruediger and granddaughter Sydney. Born and raised in Colorado, Fran began her love for the outdoors, enjoying skiing and playing tennis. She married her husband, Rudi, in Denver and then moved to Wi to raise their family. Fran was always an active member in her community and loved to help others. She was a proud member of the Waukesha Women's Club and the Well Spouse Foundation, helping to support married caregivers throughout the Midwest. Fran worked for many years for Mukwonago High School, making many dear friends and lots of happy, funny memories. She always had a story to tell and usually made sure you got either a good lesson or a good laugh out of it. After her husband Rudi passed away, Fran moved to Kentucky and enjoyed traveling and found a new passion for the outdoors in the world of caving. She and her dear companion, J Pat, were always looking for a new, nature-filled adventure. Fran loved nature, especially birds, her church and her friends and family. She was a strong, independent, loving mother and friend and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, from 1:00 PM until the time of the 2:00 PM Memorial Service at Vernon EV Lutheran Church, S90W27550 National Ave., Mukwonago, WI 53149. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Vernon Ev Lutheran Church would be appreciated, see address above.
