Frederick Shortts

February 21, 1949 — August 27, 2025

After a long battle with several cancers, Frederick T. Shortts of Slinger, WI (age 76) passed away on August 27, 2025. Fred was born February 21, 1949 in Newburgh, Ontario and grew up in Napanee, where he attended NDSS. He was a Registered P.Eng. in Ontario, graduating from University of Waterloo, and employed in the industrial ventilation industry. He had fond memories of the industrial fan business with CB&F (in Hamilton), and industrial dampers with AWV (in Toledo). He enjoyed hiking, backpacking (especially in the Canadian Rockies), photography, and travel. Fred was predeceased by his daughter Tonya, his parents, Roy and Janetta Shortts and Grandma West. He is survived by his sons Colin (Sarah) and Elliot, and their mother Elizabeth Shortts, granddaughters Kaitlyn, Emily and Camryn Shortts, his brother Terry (Sandy) Shortts, nephews Darcy (Pam) and Corey (Jamie), grandnephews Luka and Blake, and grandniece Lainey. Visitation will be held at Schramka Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin on Friday September 5, 2025, from 5:00PM to 6:00PM, followed by a memorial service. Memorial contributions are not requested. Gathering of old childhood friends at the Queens Hotel in Napanee will be scheduled for a future date.
