Gary Schaefer

Gary Schaefer, born in 1941 to Edwin and Maxine Schaefer, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Together with his wife Kim, Gary raised a loving family that was very important to him. He cherished his role as husband, father, and grandfather. He was also known for his deep love for dogs.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kim Schaefer (nee Sanders) and sister Sharon Haberman. He is survived by his children from his first marriage to Maryse: Gary Schaefer Jr., Tina Schaefer, Dax (Cathy) Schaefer, and Danielle Schaefer.

He is survived by his children with Kim: Ali (Chris) May, Max (Brittany) Schaefer, Ben (Rachael) Schaefer, Sam (Abby) Schaefer, and Tyler (Gator) Schaefer; as well as his son-in-law, Gareth Trinko.

Gary was the proud grandfather to: Jany, Charlie, Cole, Maddie, Delanie, Devan, Jake, Luci, Dylan, Izzi, Abbi, Molly, Liam, Kora, Gwen, and Callahan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Maxine Schaefer, his brother-in-law, Clem Haberman, and his beloved daughter, Cody Trinko. He is now reunited with his many canine companions.

Service Information: A visitation will be at 10 am and a Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 6th at Schramka Funeral Home, 13220 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005. Burial to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 10700 W. Capitol Dr., Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
