George Fitzwilliams

George Charles Fitzwilliams, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on December 24, 2022 at the age of 81; born to George and Evelyn Fitzwilliams of Greendale, WI on January 22, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Timothy Fitzwilliams), sister (Barbara Gardner) and his beloved wife of 49 years, Georgia; survived by his brother Tom (Mary Jane), six children Craig (Angie Shaw), Scott, Jeff (Kris), Michele Varick (Joe), Cathy Sonnentag (Mike), Tom (Kate), and his 13 grandchildren, Maggie Groshan (Derek), Brandon, Zoe Gonzalez-Shaw (Kennedy), Ellie, Benjamin, Jacob, Abby, George, Gabe, Mason, Sam, Hannah, Charlie, and great-grandchild Ethan. Also survived by his special friend, traveling and cooking buddy, Fran Adams, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. George retired in 1999 from the Germantown Police Department after 36 years of service as a police officer. George was most content spending time in the U.P. of Michigan outdoors with his family and many close friends. He also enjoyed a good story, gardening, and cooking "something up" in the kitchen for all to enjoy.
