George Sperl

Of Menomonee Falls. Died peacefully on October 14, 2018, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Survived by his children Scott (the late Barbara Bankord) Sperl, Cary (Mary Pat) Sperl, Tracy Sperl, Wendy (Mark) Behrens, Mary Beth Sperl, Kirsten Sperl, granddaughter Amanda Schmidt (Brian) and family friend Rich Frodl. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, sisters, and in-laws. Special thanks to Maria, who was George's caregiver for the last 3 years. George was born on a farm in Black Creek, WI. He entered the Army in 1943 and served in WW II in the 75th Infantry. George was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of VFW Post 9496. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from MSOE. George worked at Johnson Controls from 1956 until his retirement in 1985. He was an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church for over 50 years. Most recently he was a member of Emmanuel Community United Methodist Church. George enjoyed woodworking, working on his home and he had a passion for re-purposing found objects into something useful. George and Pat spent many years dancing the polka circuit. George's wit and humor will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Service at 11:00 A.M. on October 27, at Emmanuel Community United Methodist Church, N84 W16707 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls, followed by lunch and visitation at the church. Committal service immediately following the lunch at St. Francis Episcopal Church, N84 W16525 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Menomonee Falls VFW Post 9496, Pancreatic Cancer or Parkinson research would be appreciated.
