Dr. Gilbert Lewis Dvm

Dr. Gilbert Lewis DVM Passed away on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the age of 91. Gil was the beloved husband of 68 years to Dorothy (Hoffmann). He was the loving father of Pamela (Tom) Kell and Jeffrey Lewis. A dear brother of Dr. Bertram (Ruth) Lewis DVM and the late Dr. Jordan (Elizabeth) Lewis DVM. The proud grandfather of Melissa (Brett Hansen) Kell, Jeremy (Erin) Kell, Bonnie (Mike) Lewis-Tschannen and Katie (Wayne) Ennis and great-grandfather of Josephine and Violet Hansen, William, Henry and Thomas Kell, and Lydia Ennis. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. Gil was a graduate of the Cornell University Veterinary School and opened the Lewis Animal Hospital in Menomonee Falls in 1948. In addition to being a longtime member of the Milwaukee Veterinarian Assoc., he was appointed in 1990 to the Veterinary Board of Examiners by Gov. Tommy Thompson and served as Board Chairman from 1995-97. Gil was a past President, Paul Harris Fellow Award recipient and proud 39-year member of the Menomonee Falls Rotary Club. The family will greet relatives and friends at a celebration of Gil's life on Tuesday January 6, 2015 from 4-6:00 PM at North Hills Country Club, N73 W13430 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051.
