Schmitt, Gilbert F. Born into Eternal Life on July 1, 2018 at the age of 91. Loving husband of Rose Mary (Kolb) of 69 years. Loving father of Sue (Jim) Schnorenberg, Dennis (Cindy), Patricia (Manny) Tamayo, Richard (Lauri), Ralph (Darcy), Fred (Rosemary), Phillip (Lisa), Carolyn (Robert) Connolly, Jennifer (Gary) Feiner. Proud grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Michael and grandson Tim Tamayo. Gilbert was instrumental in starting the American Legion Post #522. He held many Offices in the American Legion and 40 et 8. He maintained the American Legion Clubhouse at Bark Lake for many years in which he was instrumental in the building of the Clubhouse. Gilbert also enjoyed the work trips up to the Camp American Legion. He was the President of the Wisconsin Campers Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday July 6, 2018 at 12PM at Saint Gabriel Catholic Parish. 1200 Saint Gabriel Way Hubertus, WI 53033. Visitation 10:00AM-12:00PM. Interment Saint Hubert Catholic Cemetery.
