SCHAENZER, Gordon Norbert Gordon Schaenzer, 84, of Mequon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015. He was born on July 13, 1930 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Milwaukee, the son of Norbert Nicholas Schaenzer and Anna Gladys Schaenzer (nee Rohde). He was educated at Holy Redeemer Grade School and Boy's Tech High School & Trade School. He entered the US Army on August 13, 1951 and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on July 22, 1953. Gordon married Barbara Jane Weidman on August 28, 1954 at Our Lady of Good Hope Parish in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2010. He was employed by Badger Tool and Engineering Co in Milwaukee and Lee Loaders in Hartford as a tool and die maker. He was owner of Mequon Reloading Co for over 16 years. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, including big game, and was an accomplished speed skater in his younger days. He fondly remembered the many hunting and camping trips with his children. As he believed travel was an important part of education, Gordon took his family on many driving vacations, experiencing the majority of the US. Later on, he enjoyed participating in numerous bicycle trips with Barbara, including a memorable ride across Ireland and France. He was well known for his homemade Maple Syrup which he sold at local Farmer's Markets. He especially enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends. Survivors include his 6 children, David (Louise) of Minneapolis, Mark (Susan) of Minneapolis, Brian (Joan) of Omaha, LuAnn (Trey) Litton of Kenosha, Carol Smith of Mequon, and Matthew (Amy) of Phoenix; a brother Richard (Adelaide) of Clarksville VA, and sister Dolores Chesser of Clarksville TN. He will be fondly remembered by his 14 grandchildren, Brianna, Megan, Sara, John, Katie, Karl, Bennett, Bradley, Allie, Kelcee, Rachel, Christopher, Benjamin, and Courtney.
