Died peacefully with his family by his side after a brief battle with lung disease on June 29, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Hallett) for 63 years. Loving father of Richard (Donna), Kathleen and Robert (Kelly). Loving grandfather of Andrew, Emily (Matthew), Katie (Howard) and Jon (Alison). Fond brother of Adelle Gartzke, Harriette (Dan) Thomson, Carol (Terry) Torres and Alan Goetz. Fond brother-in-law of Carol Fuhrer, Bob Wegner and Ken (Anne) Hallett. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Cecelia (nee Jacob) Goetz, brother Myles and sisters Bernice (Norbert) Knetzger, Jean (Doug) Thomson and Diane Wegner.
Harry served in the Army and was stationed in Korea. He wrote for the armed forces Stars and Stripes publication. Harry was a principal in the Menomonee Falls School District for over 35 years. Mainly at Valley View School, but also served at Oakwood School, Thomas Jefferson School and Riverside School for portions of his career. He was an active member of the Menomonee Falls community. Harry was instrumental in the establishment of the Teen Court program, worked with the Recreation Department, was a Scout Master and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4240. He was honored as the Menomonee Falls Citizen of the Year and he received the Menomonee Falls Board of Education Distinguished Service Award, both in the year 2008.
Visitation Tuesday, July 11, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at The St. Thérèse Chapel at Holy Hill, 1525 Carmel Rd., Hubertus, with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Inurnment to follow at St. Mary of the Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Lung Assoc. would be greatly appreciated.
